Even if you're not using a 'guitar' sound in your song, sometimes one of your sound might need some extra 'crunch' or distortion to make it sound more powerful. Here are some links to the best free VST plugins that you can download and install and use in Ableton Live / FL Studio / Logic. Add them to your basslines to make them hit harder, or your lead / riff lines to make them stand out.
