Remix Competition Sites (updated) to download free multitrack stems from

These are sites which still have active remix competitions in 2020 (updated 2021). I compiled this list after discovering that some of the sites I used to go to are no longer being updated; the remix competition scene has gone through some changes.
Nine Inch Nails made a large collection of stems available for remixing in the early 2000s. The original post is gone, but the stems are still available from other sources
Synthwave leaders The Midnight also made the multitracks for Deep Blue available for free download for a remix contest https://themidnight.bandcamp.com/album/deep-blue-the-stems

Some people argue that remix competitions are a waste of time because you're unlikely to win, but others suggest that they are a good way for producers to practise skills and experiment with new techniques. While I would advise against (1) betting too much on winning the big ticket, or (2) spending too much time on remixes and neglecting original work, the remix packs, if used effectively, can be a useful way to work out ideas and break creative blocks.

This post is compiled by Ben Ang, Ableton Certified Trainer. If you want to learn how to make remixes of your own, or how to improve your existing remix skills, contact me at ben.ang.music@gmail.com - If you're in Singapore, we have lessons in person; if you're elsewhere, we have lessons on Zoom.
