The Singapore Dark Alternative Movement (
http://www.sdam.sg/) celebrated World Goth Day (
http://worldgothday.com/) at Hyde Bar (Boat Quay) on Saturday 21 May. The DJs were Iva Sadon of Dualtone (
http://www.myspace.com/dualtone), Ben Ang (yes, me) of Cosmic Armchair (
http://www.cosmicarmchair.com/) and Murderfreak.
None of the DJs used decks, CDs or otherwise! Instead we all used Ableton Live on laptops, and a variety of controllers to chop and remix song segments and loops in real time, feeling like a live music performance than the usual DJ spinning gig.
